Unisport by NUTREND is a liquid concentrate for preparing a hypotonic sports drink. It contains taurine, L-alanine and L-carnitine and is diluted with water before use.
The concentrate format suits anyone who prefers to mix their own sports drink for use around training or simply during the day.
Unisport comes as a ready-to-dilute liquid concentrate. The formula includes taurine, L-alanine and L-carnitine, along with sodium chloride and magnesium gluconate. A 10 ml dose of the concentrate provides 31 kcal, 6.8 g of carbohydrate (all of it sugars) and 0.14 g of salt. Mixed with 600–700 ml of water, it gives a lightly mineralised hypotonic drink.
What is the difference between a hypotonic drink like Unisport and an isotonic sports drink?
Diluted as directed (10 ml in 600–700 ml of water), Unisport has an osmolality below 250 mOsm/kg, lower than that of body fluids; an isotonic drink has an osmolality similar to body fluids.
Which water should be used to prepare Unisport?
Use ordinary water; the maker advises against mineral water because it changes the drink's osmolality and mineral balance.
How long can a prepared Unisport drink be kept?
Drink it within 24 hours of preparation; an opened bottle of concentrate should be used within 3 months.
