Oral Oil by MAHARISHI AYURVEDA is a traditional Ayurvedic oil formulated for oil pulling, a practice used as part of daily oral hygiene. It combines sesame seed oil with a blend of plant and herbal extracts selected according to Ayurvedic principles, and is designed to be swished in the mouth rather than swallowed.
The oil is intended for people who want to incorporate an Ayurvedic step into their morning oral care routine, used before brushing the teeth as part of an established daily habit.
The base of the formula is sesame seed oil (Sesamum indicum), a traditional carrier oil used in Ayurvedic oral care practices. It is combined with a group of herbal extracts, including amla fruit extract (Emblica officinalis), haritaki fruit extract (Terminalia chebula), turmeric root extract (Curcuma longa), and licorice root extract (Glycyrrhiza glabra), all of which have a long-standing place in classical Ayurvedic formulations. The oil also includes cinnamon bark, bibhitaki fruit, carnation flower, and cardamom seed extracts, along with a mint and lemon aroma component.
The oil is used by placing it in the mouth and swishing it, in line with the traditional oil pulling method, before spitting it out. It is not intended to be swallowed.
