Flea & Tick Spray for Dogs by NOW FOODS is an external-use spray for dogs’ coats, made with a blend of plant oils and free from DEET, synthetic pesticides and pyrethrins.
The 237 ml bottle suits dog owners who prefer a topical spray applied directly to the coat before outdoor activity or after grooming and bathing.
The formula is based on six essential oils: geranium oil, lemongrass oil, peppermint oil, cinnamon cassia oil, cedarwood oil and thyme oil. These are combined with water-based inert ingredients that make up the bulk of the spray. The spray is for external use on dogs only. According to the maker, it can also be applied to pet bedding, grooming tools, blankets, carpets, rugs, pillows and upholstery; test a small amount on an inconspicuous area first to check colourfastness.
How often should the spray be reapplied?
The directions say to reapply it 1–2 times a week before the dog goes outside, and again after grooming or when the coat gets wet, without soaking the coat.
How do you apply the spray near the dog’s head?
Do not spray directly around the nose, mouth or eyes; spray it onto a cloth instead and wipe the cloth around the dog’s face.
Can the spray be used on pet bedding and home textiles?
Yes, the maker lists pet bedding, grooming tools, blankets, carpets, rugs, pillows and upholstery; test a small amount on an inconspicuous area first to check colourfastness.
