Anu Taila for Nasya Therapy by MAHARISHI AYURVEDA is a traditional Ayurvedic oil formulated for nasya, the practice of applying herbal oil into the nostrils as part of classical Ayurvedic care for the head and neck area. It is a cosmetic product based on sesame seed oil combined with a range of classical Ayurvedic root and herb extracts, intended for external nasal use only.
This small 12 ml bottle is designed for precise drop-by-drop application, making it suitable for use at home or in a clinical Ayurvedic setting, ideally under the guidance of a qualified practitioner.
The formula is built around sesame seed oil as its base, into which a series of root and bark extracts from classical Ayurvedic tradition have been incorporated, including licorice root extract (Glycyrrhiza glabra), Ceylon cinnamon bark extract (Cinnamomum zeylanicum), and vetiver root extract (Vetiveria zizanioides). These ingredients reflect the classical Anu Taila formulation used in nasya practice, a therapy applied to the head and neck region within traditional Ayurvedic medicine in India. The oil does not contain artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives.
Before use, the oil is typically warmed to body temperature. The person lies on their back with the head tilted slightly backward, and the drops are placed into each nostril, followed by a short period of calm nasal breathing. This is traditionally carried out in the morning or evening, on a relatively empty stomach, and preferably following consultation with an Ayurvedic practitioner.
