Massage Oil for Body and Head by MAHARISHI AYURVEDA is an Ayurvedic body and scalp oil based on sesame seed oil, combined with a blend of traditional plant extracts and lemongrass oil for scent. It comes in liquid form, packaged in a 100 ml bottle, and is intended to be warmed slightly before massage.
The oil is formulated for normal to dry skin and suits people who enjoy incorporating Ayurvedic-style massage rituals into their personal care routine, such as before showering or bathing.
The base of the oil is Sesamum indicum seed oil, a carrier oil traditionally used in Ayurvedic massage practices for its texture and ease of application on the skin. It is combined with Withania somnifera root extract (commonly known as ashwagandha), along with Mimosa pudica extract, Sida cordifolia extract, and Convolvulus pluricaulis extract — herbal ingredients associated with traditional Ayurvedic formulations. The scent comes from Cymbopogon schoenanthus oil (lemongrass), which contributes a fresh, herbal note during use.
Before use, warm a small amount of the oil in your palms, then apply it to the skin of the body and/or the scalp using massage movements. It is recommended for normal to dry skin, and the massage can be performed before bathing.
