The formula is built around a combination of well-known botanical extracts. Passionflower (Passiflora incarnata) is included as a flowering aerial part extract standardized to vitexin, while California poppy (Eschscholtzia californica) appears in two forms — a standardized aerial part extract and a liquid 1:1 extract from the same plant part. Valerian (Valeriana officinalis) is added as a rhizome and root extract standardized to valeric acids, and Lemon balm (Melissa officinalis) as a leaf extract standardized to rosmarinic acid. The formula also contains a small, defined amount of melatonin per daily dose.
The product can be taken on its own or mixed into water, tea, or another drink in the evening. The bottle should be shaken before each use, as some natural sediment may form over time due to the plant-based composition.
